ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
Learning InSync is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to ensuring best-practice
educational opportunities for students, teachers, and education leaders in Tanzania.

We envision a world in which all students complete secondary school with the skills,
knowledge, and motivation necessary to contribute to society.
Learning InSync specializes in the development and management of education
projects, with offices in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Our partners come to us seeking
viable approaches to the issues that matter most in the development of sustainable,
scalable, and high quality education programming. Through rigorous feasibility
assessments and needs assessments, we develop customized solutions that meet
the organizations specific needs and enable them to have the meaningful impact
they strive to achieve.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for supporting Learning InSync teacher training
programming. Programming currently includes the design, development, and
implementation of customized training programming for a variety of projects focused
on the integration of technology in education. The Officer will provide technical
support for the creation of programming, and logistical and administrational support
for programme implementation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with Learning InSync Director to design, develop, and implement
training programming and teaching and learning materials.
• Coordinate with participating schools to provide ongoing support, arrange
training sessions, and provide logistical assistance.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to partner schools.
• Serve as a mentor or coach to partner school teachers and school leadership.
• Complete monitoring and evaluation activities at schools as needed. Oversee
the collection of programme metrics that can be analyzed by Learning InSync
to enhance the effectiveness of Learning InSync programming and reporting.
• Recommend improvements to Program Managers and Country Director to
more efficiently and effectively manage the programming.
• Assist Country Director with the recruitment, and training, of other Program

staff, and provide regular feedback on their performance.
• Provide the technical input necessary to support the Director’s annual,
quarterly and periodic budget development, reviews and reporting processes.
• Assist the business Development team by giving input into fundraising
strategies for the program, preparing funding proposals and reports, and
meeting with donors, as required.
• Oversee collecting and sharing of effective practices from all programs.
• Represent Learning InSync by attending and speaking at relevant forums and
advocate the importance of its work.
• Explore opportunities with government to obtain support (for example,
financial support, public acknowledgment of Learning InSync’s work,
advocacy for successful Learning InSync program elements).
• Liaise with other non-profits running similar programs to identify areas of
knowledge sharing and possible collaboration.
• Lead in purchase and procurements needs for programming, including
documentation and reporting of procurements.
• Create and maintain systems and structures for internal and external
communications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree required in a related field of study (e.g. MA, MSS, MPA, or
MSc in International Education, Development Studies, Education, or
Information and Communication Technology)
• Substantial, relevant working experience in education programs
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a field focused on secondary
education levels
• Demonstrated leadership in program planning and design
• A proven ability to establish effective working relationships and partnerships
with diverse stakeholders including donors
• Strong coaching, mentoring and training skills
• Experience working with NGOs
• Effective and strong English communication skills (oral and written) and
capability to relate and interact with multicultural teams and represent the
organization in professional forums.
• Capacity to work with strict deadlines
• Ability to travel frequently, occasionally on short notice, and, when required,
for extended periods of time.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft word, Microsoft office, Power point, Excel, and
other computer based methods of documentation.
